Child Care Subsidy

About the Child Care Subsidy
The Australian government provides eligible families with a Child Care Subsidy to help cover the cost of child care fees.
How does the CCS work?
Text: The amount your Child Care Subsidy will depend on three things:
- Your combined family income
Your combined family income is your family’s annual adjusted taxable income. - Parent’s recognised activity level
This is the amount of “recognised activity” you and your partner undertake each fortnight.
“Recognised activities” include: paid work (including leave), studying and training, unpaid work in your family business, looking for work, volunteering, self-employment or other activities on a case-by-case basis. - Hours of Activity & the childcare fees you pay
The higher the number of hours of recognised activity you do, the more hours subsidised care you can access. The maximum number of hours of childcare you can access each fortnight is 100 hours.
Set out below is an indicative table of the number of hours of childcare which will be subsidised based on your combined family income and hours of activity.
