Responsive Language

The words we use daily with children matter. It can have a direct impact on how a child acts, feels and responds to a situation.

“Be careful. Stop doing that. Don’t hit”

Giving children the tools to learn using clear, purposeful and explicit language that will support learning and growth in children.

Be clear “Minnie let’s give the bike back to Daffy. It’s hard waiting but you can have a turn when she is finished” This acknowledges Minnie’s feelings while giving a clear solution to the problem.

Responsive language will improve how a child navigates the world and connects with others.
